Papermaking & Bookmaking Workshop
I have been learning how to make tintypes, the 19th century photographic process where photographs are exposed onto sheets of metal. This is also referred to as the wet plate collodion process. The plate is prepared, exposed and processed while the photographic emulsion is wet. This image shows Andy Bloxham, my former graduate student, who is now a photography professor in West Virginia.

Kickstarter
Okay, this website is amazing! Kickstarter.com is a funding platform for creative projects. All you have to do is present your artistic project, and how much money it will take to make this project happen. Then, people from all around the world donate to your project. It's that easy!!
Working at the Bossier Arts Council has opened my eyes as to how many artists there really are in this community. There are tons, professional and emerging. So, post your event to Kickstarter and show the world that Bossier Parish has some creative things going on here too.
Represent and get funded.

Artist's One Stop is getting a facelift
Getting yourself "put together" is one of the hardest things for many artists to do. The Bossier Arts Council has dedicated a space for this daunting task called the Artist's One Stop. We will be updating the hardware and creating classes in the next few weeks. Please let us know if you have any suggestions to add to our wish list.
